Useful as an ashtray on a motorbike....

Urrrgh! We've just got to start making our houses and living arrangements work for us, and provide food, energy, water etc. If we had a national disaster of some sort, or oil prices quadrupled tomorrow, most of our houses and workplaces would be a liability, not an asset.

Anyway, here's my introductory article on passive design basics from the Eco News last month - might interest some of you who are about to build or renovate. Fill in your email address below and I'll endeavour to get more useful information into the bloggosphere!

...and yes, for anyone who is wondering, I am about to upgrade my own living status from 'glorified camping' to something [only slightly] more grand, and actually finish (read 'start') my own eco-renovation. I don't think Vague magazine will be knocking my door down for a photoshoot, but at least it will be funky and creative (and won't look like p36 of a Freedom catalogue) AND I will be producing siginficantly more food and water (and sharing with another).
Yes, Ian the Incredible is planning to use No 16 as a home base while he works remotely..... I'll have someone to play with in my cubby house!) Stay tuned...we'll put the reno process up on You Tube. Gulp. (As you can see, like a lot of us, it's definitely relying on "inner beauty" at this stage!)
